And then…
Portara – The Temple of Apollo
The iconic marble doorway overlooking Naxos Town’s harbor is all that remains of the ancient Temple of Apollo, built in the 6th century BC. Its dramatic silhouette against the sea, especially at sunset, is one of the most unforgettable sights on the island. ()
Temple of Demeter (Sangri)
Located near the village of Sangri, this 6th‑century BC marble sanctuary was dedicated to Demeter, goddess of agriculture. It represents early Ionic temple architecture and gives insight into ancient religious life on the island. Nearby, the small museum displays finds from the site. ()
Sanctuary of Dionysus at Iria (Iria Temple)
Just south of Naxos Town lies the ancient sanctuary of Dionysus, known locally as the Iria temple. This sacred site was a center of worship from the Bronze Age through classical antiquity, celebrating the god of wine, fertility and joy. Its remains and excavation areas reveal the island’s long spiritual heritage. ()
Kouros Statues – Apollonas & Melanes
Scattered across the countryside are imposing unfinished marble statues known as kouroi. The colossal Kouros of Apollonas (over 10 m long) stands in its original quarry, while in Melanes you’ll find another nearly complete statue surrounded by nature. These remarkable relics showcase ancient sculpting techniques and Naxos’ importance as a marble‑working center. ()
Archaeological Museum of Naxos (Chora)
Housed in a historic Venetian building in the Old Town, this museum displays finds from across the island—from Early Cycladic figurines to Mycenaean pottery and classical sculpture. Its collection paints a rich timeline of Naxian history. ()
Archaeological Museum of the Sanctuary of Demeter (Sangri)
Adjacent to the temple site, this small museum exhibits architectural fragments, inscriptions and votive offerings from the sanctuary, offering unique context for the temple ruins.
Panagia Drosiani
Near the village of Moni, Panagia Drosiani is one of the oldest Byzantine churches in the Cyclades, dating back to the 6th century AD. Its remarkable frescoes and unique architecture make it a must-see for visitors interested in religious art and history

Had the best time at this hotel. It really creates such an atmosphere as if you are on an abandoned island with untouched nature. This is a rest not only for body but for soul & mind as well.
I like places where you can unite with nature. After visiting their website I chose this place for vacation and this decision was truly right. 10/10
